As another year comes to a close, it’s fun to look back at 2022 to see what y’all were making from SouthernBite.com. And while, for the most part, the top recipes stayed the same as previous years, we did see a few exciting shake ups this year.
The most popular recipe has continued to be the most popular for the last 5 years! Y’all just really love that stuff.
More than anything, looking back just makes me super proud and grateful. I’m grateful for the opportunity to come to work and do something I love each and every day. I’m grateful that each day gives me the opportunity to work at getting families back around the supper table. But most of all, I’m grateful for each and everyone of you. You are the reason I get to do something so incredible each and every day.
The fact that I get to do all of these things (and make a living at it) because of y’all is defiantly not lost on me. My success is owed to you! And I couldn’t be more appreciative for y’all coming back to the site each week, looking for something delicious.
2023 is going to be a fun and exciting year for Southern Bite. We’ve got tons of great recipes coming, lots more video content, and even a new place you’re going to get to see me on your television screen all in-store for the next fews months.
Is there something in particular you’d like to see more of? Is there a recipe you really want me to create for you? Let me know in the comments below!
Much love! –Stacey

I love the Ultimate Chicken Spaghetti. My husband doesn’t like cheese, so I ate this recipe entirely by myself. I froze some of it. Thank you for posting it again for me to see, so I can add it to my menu for January. Happy New Year to you and yours.Reply
Stacey
So glad you’ve enjoyed it, Nancy!

I have been trying for years to duplicate the rice our favorite Mexican restaurant makes.
I’ve come close, but I’ve got to tell you that your “Easiest Mexican Inspired Salsa Rice” recipe is perfect. I bought the yellow rice which has seasoning in it, added the olive oil and salsa and it was absolutely delicious. Does the yellow rice you use also come with a little seasoning?Reply
Stacey
So glad you enjoyed it! Yes, most yellow rice includes the seasoning. I typically us the Vigo brand. I just made some last night.

I agree with Karen. All your recipes are delicious. I would also like to see more veggie recipes. I usually have to cut down the recipe as I don’t cook for a big family any more. Thanks for all you do!!Reply
Stacey
You bet! Duly noted! And thanks!

Stacey, thanks for all the delicious recipes. I’d love to see more southern vegetable dishes, like green beans with potatoes, homemade succotash, or different beans like purple hulls. Our culinary repertoire has narrowed over time, and I think new cooks would love to learn how to make the most of what the farmer’s market offers. We depend on them to stoke the flames of the southern cooking tradition. That said, I am grateful for brands like PictSweet in my store’s freezer section though, and the fact that seed libraries are becoming more prevalent.
